Zen Awareness Practice is rooted in an ancient blend of Buddhist and Taoist traditions, and is expressed in a modern, Western framework. On this path we discover how to be fully open to what life presents in each moment. It is a path of meditation, compassion, freedom and the discovery of our capacity for all that life holds.






OUR  TERRITORY

 

Our territory is our own lives. We use the content of our daily lives to discover, and then to see through, the habitual patterns that keep life limited and tense. The direct experience of life is the territory that we want to explore and claim.


OUR  MAP

 

We use a set of practice tools which have stood the test of time to help us let go of conditioned patterns of thought and action. These tools and practices are expressed in terms familiar to our Western culture so they can guide us along the path of our daily life.


OUR  GUIDES

 

Our guides bring decades of experience supporting people as they walk along life’s path. Their role is to provide the broad structure, the compassionate support, the safe environment and the tools of practice that make it possible for each person to explore this path and discover the riches of their own life.


OUR  COMPANIONS

 

Those who gather for meditation and Zen practice with us receive our support and respect. This is a hero’s journey that requires willingness to move through the uncomfortable places we have all learned to avoid. Therefore we uphold a privileged environment of quiet and confidentiality, allowing and trusting that each of us is capable of his/her own life.
