HISTORY

The Still Point was founded in 2003 for the purpose of extending a simple western expression of Zen practice to the Chico community. Our focus on conscious compassionate awareness emerges from our study with Cheri Huber and the monks of the Zen Practice Monastery in Murphy’s California, and from our own professional history.

Our Resident Guides come from a background of providing pastoral care, counseling and support of individuals moving through the challenges of living and dying. Both serve as guides - leading discussions and providing individual guidance at The Still Point.
